Barry and Robin Gibb, lined up for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions

Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees will induct ABBA, Phish's Trey Anastasio will do the honors for Genesis and Wyclef Jean will induct Jimmy Cliff at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th annual induction ceremony Monday, March 15, at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

Other celebrity presenters will include Steve Van Zandt, who will induct the Hollies, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, who will induct the Stooges. Jackson Browne will enshrine record-company executive David Geffen and Carole King will induct songwriter honorees Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell.

The festivities will be shown on the Fuse cable network (Fuse Presents the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony March 15, 2010), starting at 8:30 p.m. Cleveland's Rock Hall is hosting a watch party, with doors set to open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the museum and Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone, 1-800-745-3000

Bee Gees to mark 50th anniversary with special releases

The Bee Gees are set to celebrate their 50th anniversary with the release of two compilations. 'Mythology', a four-disc tribute to each of the Gibb brothers, and a best of, 'Ultimate Bee Gees: The 50th Anniversary Collection', are set for release on November 2.
'Mythology' was curated and produced by Barry and Robin Gibb, with each of its discs named after and dedicated to a different Gibb brother, including Andy Gibb, who was not part of the group.
The songs were chosen by Barry and Robin Gibb, the late Maurice's widow Yvonne (and their children Adam and Samantha) and Andy Gibb's daughter Peta.
Writing in the sleeve notes, Barry Gibb explains the addition of Andy Gibb: "This is now The Bee Gees' 50th Anniversary. And by The Bee Gees, I mean all four brothers.”
The releases marks 50 years since brothers Barry, Robin, and the late Maurice Gibb began calling themselves The Bee Gees.
The second release, a best of, comes with a DVD of unreleased videos, previously unreleased television appearances, live performances, and promo videos.
